With over 12,000 runs in First-Class (FC) cricket, Fawad Alam is finally all set to make his comeback in Test cricket after a gap of almost 10 years.
According to sources, Fawad will be making his appearance in the national team against Sri Lanka in the upcoming two matches Test home series, scheduled in December in Rawalpindi and Karachi respectively.
On the other hand, former Test cricketer Basit Ali also confirmed that Fawad will be a part of Pakistan’s 15-member Test squad against Sri Lanka.
While talking in ARY News’ ‘Sports Room’, Basit revealed that Fawad is under consideration of Misbah and likely to make his comeback.
“He [Fawad] will be in Pakistan’s Test squad against Sri Lanka. One more thing I want to reveal here is that he will not play the first Test,” Basit confirmed.
It must be noted here that Fawad is out of Test cricket despite scoring a century in his debut match against Sri Lanka in 2009. He scored 168 runs in the second inning for Pakistan in that match.
