While government initiatives like Digital Pakistan are good but the first step in the direction of improving the economy of the country should be its documentation which is being resisted by different mafias and what is pitiable is that before their resistance the government seems to be acceding ground to them. The example of government’s kid-glove treatment with the protesting traders a couple of months back is a case in point. The very fact that some segments of society which are making a quick buck don’t want the documentation of their income, wax eloquent that something is definitely fishy in their financial dealings. Unless the economy of the country is documented from top to bottom there is remote chance of country finding its feet.
It seems that all types of mafias have ganged up against the prime minister as whenever he wants to take any step for the amelioration of the lot of the common man it is stymied by them. They have managed to make inroads into the media also as some of the TV channels and newspapers are busy day in and day out in their adverse publicity against the government.
The opposition leaders have made themselves a laughing stock of the world by assembling in London recently for chalking out an anti-government strategy. Couldn’t they hold their meetings inside the country? Eyebrows are being raised over the extent of the reported illness of Nawaz and Shahbaz Shareef. No doubt the elder brother has been an heart patient since long but there are many who believe that his illness was blown out of proportions and it was highly exaggerated to hoodwink powers that be for allowing him to enjoy the comfy of London instead ofspending his jail term in Pakistan.
