I have never regarded myself as anti-Ameri-can, despite my life-long opposition to America’s ruthless pursuit of its international agenda and its well-defined national objectives. That America’s overall ‘objectives’ on global scale have been in sharp contradiction of Pakistan’s core national interests, and that America hasn’t ever shown any respect for our well-being, and used us ruthlessly for its own goals, cannot but be regarded as natural. The blame lies squarely on and with us for having failed constantly to act in our own long-term interests, and to have capitulated to American pressure and blackmail, without even a groan. Not meaning thereby that we should have chosen to place ourselves on an anti-U.S platform. Even China has found ways and means of remaining engaged with the U.S despite the known reality that the two now are the ultimate rivals for supremacy on the globe. One of the reasons, America does not place us on the list of its genuine friends, allies and beneficiaries is the irreversible reality of Pakistan being welded to the goal of Pak-China alliance to counter Indian designs in the region.
I have always regarded India as No 2 ally of the U.S on long-term basis— The No 1 remains and will always remain Israel because of the control that the Zionists happen to enjoy on Washington.
Before 9/11, Pakistan was excellently placed in the region from strategic point of view because of the influence Islamabad had acquired on Kabul. In the pre-Afghan war era, (in 1970s and 1980s) it was India which had the upper hand in Kabul.
In the developments since 9/11 India has invested hugely on the goal of making Kabul an extension of New Dehli. This is precisely what America too regards vital to its interests. Precisely (also) why America has been and continues to be so desperately keen to push Pakistan Army into the quagmire of North Waziristan. The objective is to create permanent hostility between the Pashtoon warriors and the Pak Army, so that when Americans are forced to quit the region militarily Kabul doesn’t re-establish its links with Islamabad, and remains an Indian stronghold.
I don’t have very strong reasons not to surmise that most of the terrorism-related incidents and events that have been occurring in Pakistan are dollar-backed. The objective clearly is to create an environment in which the civil society of Pakistan is forced to force Pak Army to embark upon a suicidal mission. It is no small tragedy that in today’s Pakistan those who print and circulate dollars face no problem in buying minds and hands that are prepared to do their bidding.
