The other day I had a brief communication with the PTI Chief Imran Khan. “How hopeful are you of matching your resolve with the party’s performance ?” I asked him.
“My party’s performance will be directly proportional to the degree of my resolve, and as you know, the fountainhead of my resolve is my faith in Allah, who till now has been blessing me with his Benevolent Grace”, IK replied. “As long as my Faith stands unshaken, my resolve will never diminish. And as long as my resolve urges me on, my party’s potential to perform will grow. I more than share your belief that the world has entered the century of the return of Islam. Insha Allah we will succeed in creating a Pakistan that will be the leader of Islamic march in letter and spirit—a country that will prove to the world that Islam is more than relevant to the modern life.”
So this is Imran Khan. If anyone has any doubts about his faith, his vision, his resolve and his destiny he or she should better remove them.
I am nobody in the PTI organization. But I share with Imran Khan a spiritual bond that goes beyond formalities. I have my own independent views too. And some of these views are inflexible. For example, I believe very staunchly in the goodness of what I call the Dictatorship of Ideology. IK on the other hand is committed to plural democracy through which he hopes to carve out a Pakistan that will be a model Islamic Social Welfare State.
All my prayers for him.
