PTI leader Naeemul Haque was laid to rest in Karachi’s Gizri graveyard, after his funeral prayers were held at Masjid Aisha, Khayaban-e-Ittehad in DHA, on Sunday evening.
The prayers were attended by PTI leaders and government officials, including Sindh Governor Imran Ismail and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar. Office bearers of PTI’s Karachi chapter also attended the funeral.
Government officials and PTI leaders, including Interior Minister retired Brig Ijaz Shah, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan and Deputy National Assembly Speaker Qasim Suri, had gathered at party stalwart Naeemul Haque’s residence ahead of his funeral prayers.
Speaking to the media, Awan paid rich tribute to Haque and said: “As a soldier on the frontline, he (Haque) not only defended Prime Minister Imran Khan’s narrative at every turn but also worked tirelessly to turn his (PM Imran’s) vision into reality.”
“We will not let his (Haque’s) cause die. PTI will keep his vision alive,” the SAPM vowed.
ISLAMABAD, February 16: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has announced three-day mourning over the sad demise of senior party leader Naeem-ul-Haq.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi expressed deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Naeem ul Haque.
They also prayed for the higher ranks of the departed soul and condoled with the bereaved family.
In a tweet, Prime Minister Imran Khan said Naeem ul Haque was one of the ten founding members of PTI. He said in 23 years of PTI’s trials and tribulations, Naeem ul Haque always stood by him.
Paying tribute to senior PTI leader, he said his death has left an irreplaceable void.
Talking to PTV, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said PTI have lost a loyal friend today.
Special Assistant on Information Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan in a tweet, said Naeem ul Haque was a great asset to the party whose space can never be filled.
Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry, Railway Minister Sheikh Rasheed, Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood, and Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and others also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Naeem-ul-Haq.
Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, Minister for Religious Affairs Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Defence Minister Pervez Khan Khattak and Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam have expressed deep sorrow and grief over the demise of PTI leader Naeem ul Haque.
In their separate statements and tweets, they prayed to Almighty Allah to bless his departed soul and grant him Jannah.
In a statement, PTI Central Vice President Zahid Hussain said the party has decided to postpone all its political activities for three days.
All senior party leadership will gather at PTI Central Secretariat to offer Fateha after the funeral prayers and burial of Naeem ul Haq.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS ) General Qamar Javed Bajwa has also expressed his grief on the sad demise of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haque.
According to the Inter Services Public Relations, the COAS prayed for the deceased and his family. May Allah bless the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family, Aamen, COAS said.
Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi expressed his grief over the sad demise of Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Naeemul Haq. In a message received from the Pakistan Navy Spokesperson, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi extended his heartfelt condolence on the death of prominent politician Naeemul Haq.
May Allah exalt the ranks of the late and give patience to his family, the Naval Chief prayed.- –NNI
