Maulana Fazlur Rehman is again flexing muscles and one can hear sabre rattling in the political camps of some other political parties parties also who want to cross swords with the PM one more time before the Advent of Ramadan and before the summer sets in.
A lot will, however, depend on how and to what extent the benefits of the subsidy package announced by the federal cabinet accrues to the common man of the country. In the same manner, the fealty of the political allies of the PTI is going to be tested to a great extent.
The chattering classes of the country believe that it won’t be a bad idea if the PM calls for a snap elections soon and appeals to the voters that in case they want him to implement his manifesto in letter and spirit without any let or hindrance they will have to vote overwhelmingly in favour of his party as with the present numerical strength in parliament he is simply not in a position to fulfill his election promises. He should take lessons from the Aam Aadmi Party which has recently routed all other political parties in the snap election in the Indian capital. Granted that the Aam Aadmi Party has been putting the people-friendly policies into effect since 2013 when it surfaced for the first time on the political landscape of India. Can’t our PM take a leaf out from its book of policies and ways of working and model his policies on their pattern?
If Aam Aadmi Party of India can work wonders for the common voiceless silent majority of New Delhi why can’t the PTI do the same for the have-nots of Pakistan ? Needless to say the manifesto and the way how it is being implemented for the good of the teeming millions of poverty stricken people in New Delhi by the Aam Aadmi Party have made other political parties of India green with envy and in their heart of hearts they fear that this party might make severe dents in their vote bank in the next polls.
