Sindh’s IG Police has resorted to the ultimate tactics that a system facing the threat of extinction usually opts for. He has expressed his complete lack of trust in the unbiased character and integrity of Justice Amir Haani Muslim.
“As the said judge is in direct contact with the enquiry team, I have good reasons to express my reservations about his presence on the bench trying this case,” the IG Police has stated in his application to the Supreme Court which has turned down his contention quite firmly.
It goes without saying that the province of Sindh is head and shoulders above the other provinces in the art of misrule or misgovernance—and in the skills without which the culture of corruption cannot prosper unhinderedly.
Even though it is the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah who deserves all the laurels in this context, because of the authority he enjoys, he can always pass on the credit to his absconding boss and his “present everywhere sister.” As far as the IG Police is concerned, he is nothing more than an executor of the will of his bosses. Understandably his fees or remunerations or rewards have to be directly proportionate to the ‘services’ he delivers.
It is unfair to him that he be held responsible for all his ‘achievements’ to the exclusion of his bosses.
