The Yankees are double dealers of the first order. It is always the end that matters to them, and not the ways how to achieve it. As long as the rulers of any country agree to dance to their tune and play second fiddle to them, they don’t mind if they are military dictators or notorious for trampling human rights of their people under their feet. History is replete with instances where they had welcomed the rule by the jackboots in many countries because the military rulers there acted in cahoots with them in the achievement of their political objectives.
The American president must hang his head in shame over visiting India the other day fully knowing the grave human rights’violations by the Indian Army in the occupied Kashmir for many months now. Since he needs services of New Delhi in his conspiracies against Beijing and does not want to annoy it, the American president has been looking the other way as violence of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir continues unabated.
The very word CPEC has become an anathema for Washington. The question is :what right have the Americans got to raise their eyebrows over an economic developnental project which aims at the economic betterment of Pakistan and China? Must Pakistan get a prior approval from the White House before entering into economic ties with any country which are mutually beneficial for both of them?
The American president during the course of his recent sojourn to India has also signed a military agreement under which India will be provided with latest state-of-the-art military equipment by Washington. Would it not upset the military balance in the sub-continent? New Delhi shouldn’t raise a hullabaloo if Pakistan now gets arms and ammunition from elsewhere in order to offset the military imbalance likely to be created by the above-mentioned arms deal between India and the US.
