ISLAMABAD, March 11: Foreign Affairs Adviser Sartaj Aziz said on Friday that Pakistan’s seriousness in implementing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is reflected in the ‘Vision 2025’, which is a policy framework of the Government of Pakistan to build upon the Millennium Development Goals and use it as a launching pad for complete fulfillment of the SDGs before 2030.
He was addressing at a special event held at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), in Bangkok.
He said that Pakistan is perhaps the first country to formalize broad political support for the SDGs through adoption of a unanimous resolution in National Assembly of Pakistan on 19 February 2016.
Mr. Aziz said that Pakistan has integrated the objectives and targets of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030 in our national economic and development planning, which will enable Pakistan to join the league of upper middle class countries by 2030.
