PESHAWAR, April 12: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved the absorption of 3024 Khasadar Personnel’s of South Waziristan District into the Provincial Police. With the approval of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan, the Home & Tribal Affairs department has issued a formal notification to this effect. It merits a mention here that majority of the Khasadar personnel’s of the erstwhile FATA have already been absorbed into Provincial Police. In a another development, the provincial government, through an ordinance has made amendments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Act 2017 for appointment of the wards of police martyrs as Assistant Sub Inspectors in the provincial Police. Under the amendments thus made, Wards of 196 Police martyrs will be inducted as Assistant Sub Inspectors.
In a statement issued here to this effect, Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that accelerated development and merger process of the erstwhile FATA into the province is going on without any delay and interruption adding that the entire process would be completed very soon. He said that the provincial government was taking concrete steps to strengthen the law enforcement agencies in the merged districts stating that besides necessary trainings, all the required equipments and facilities will be provided to the law enforcing agencies in the merged areas. Regarding the induction of the wards of Police martyrs, Mahmood Khan said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police had set unprecedented and matchless examples of sacrifices in the war against terrorism and added that the provincial government would utilize all the available resources for the welfare of the families of Police martyrs.-PR
