SRINAGAR, May 3: Four Indian Army personnel have been killed in Handwara in IOK including Colonel Sharma, Major Anuj Sood, Naik Rajesh Kumar, Lance Naik Dinesh Singh and sub-inspector of Jammu-Kashmir police Shakeel Qazi were killed in the operation with unidentified Gunmen .
They were in an encounter with the Kashmiri freedom fighters in Chanjmulla area of Hundwara, IOK on Sunday. Two of the unidentified gunmen (Kashmiri freedom fighters) were also martyred in the encounter, according to Indian Army sources.
The Indian Army unit entered the house of innocent civilians of IOK, as per the Indian army it was a hostage like situation whereas Kashmiris are of the view they are occupiers and they try to become saviours. The freedom fighters opened fire on them. According to Indian Army’s story they tried to evacuate civilians safely who were hostage.-Agencies
