ISLAMABAD, November 15: On the special directions of Inspector General, National Highways and Motorways Police, Inam Ghani, the fitness certificates of passenger and freight vehicles entering the motorways will be checked. In case of non-availability of fitness certificate, the concerned vehicle will be returned from the toll plaza along with legal action. In this regard, the National Highways and Motorways Police have been directed to liaise with the transporters and arrange regular briefing sessions at the transport bases. For which various teams of Motorway Police have started contacts. He said that it has been observed that faulty brakes of vehicles, old tires and old machinery lead to accidents. Therefore, appropriate steps should be taken to control these causes. These measures will be useful in efforts to prevent accidents and reduce air pollution.-PR
