Somebody very rightly said that though the scars left behind on our society by covid-19 are legion but the damage which the school closures has inflicted on the education of our students is also monumental.
The ink was barely dry on the appointment order of Qazi Jamil as IG police Islamabad when he was given marching orders to join Intelligence Bureau. Panjab,Sind and Islamabad are notorious for frequent transfers of their IGs.During the past three and a half year that the present governments have been in power umpteen IGs of these provinces were posted and then shown the door within months of their posting.This is certainly not the way administration is run. If this be the state of affairs,how come the law and order situation will improve?Small wonder the writ of the government has gone to the dogs.
The Americans simply cannot reconcile to the fact that China has progressed tremendously in the fields of science and technology and due to its strong economy its area of political influence has spread far and wide in the world.Likewise, Washington also cannot stomach the renaissance of the Kremlin under Putin in whose leadership Moscow has been,lately,extending its area of influence in most of the central Asian countries which were once a part and parcel of the erstwhile Soviet Union and which broke away from Moscow due to conspiracy of the CIA.In the past Washington had to face only one political adversary and that was the Soviet union.Today China too has joined the Soviets thus making the Communist bloc too formidable for Washington to face.
