a “You are the future of Kyrgyzstan! Tomorrow you will take the fate of the country into your own hands. This is a great duty, as well as great responsibility,” Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov said Tuesday speaking at the ceremony of awarding presidential scholarships to the best students of universities in the country.
This year, 80 students from all of the country’s universities got presidential scholarships, the press service of the Kyrgyz president reported. At the meeting with them, Zhaparov sincerely congratulated students on their achievements in studies, thanking them for hard work and perseverance.
“It is gratifying that you are educated at our country’s leading universities and have set an example for other young people by being awarded the presidential scholarship. I believe that you have achieved such success thanks to your diligence, willpower and high patriotism. Development of our state directly depends on the purity of our society and the quality of education, on the chosen profession, culture and morality of the younger generation,” the president said.
The Kyrgyz leader told the future specialists that today the country is developing a program to reform the entire education system – from kindergartens to secondary vocational, special and higher education institutions.
He stressed that special attention must be paid to learning as many languages as possible.
“This is the demands of the time. First of all it is necessary to master the state language, and then the other languages. I hope that you will justify the hopes that our people pin on you and become those who will develop and glorify Kyrgyzstan. May your road to knowledge be not only thorny but also successful,” concluded Zhaparov, wishing students success. The Presidential Scholarship is awarded annually to the country’s best students for academic and social achievements.
