Another Kyrgyz-French political consultations held in Paris

Paris hosted another Kyrgyz-French political consultations at the level of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliyev and Director of the Directorate for Continental Europe of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs Frederic Mondoloni.
The press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry reported that during the dialogue a wide range of issues of Kyrgyz-French bilateral and multilateral cooperation were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the current state and prospects for further development of political, trade and economic, investment and scientific-cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The French side welcomed the establishment of the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Paris. The agreement was reached on holding joint events in Bishkek and Paris next year in honor of the 30th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Nuran Niyazaliyev emphasized the need to develop economic, trade and investment relations through the establishment of a joint Kyrgyz-French Intergovernmental Com mission on Economic Cooperation, the conclusion of agreements on the avoidance of double taxation and investment protection, as well as the organization of a business forum of Kyrgyz and French entrepreneurs in 2022.
Considerable attention was paid to issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The sides welcomed the initiative to establish the Franco-German Cultural Institute in Bishkek, as well as the establishment of twinning relations between the cities of the two countries, in particular between Bishkek and Paris and Osh (Kyrgyzstan) and Auch (France).
Niyazaliyev and Mondoloni debated the interaction between the two countries in multilateral diplomacy, confirming the willingness to continue close cooperation in international institutions such as the UN, OSCE, EU, UNESCO, etc.
The French side informed about the decision to co-sponsor the resolution of the UN General Assembly on declaring 2022 the “International Year of Sustainable Development of Mountain Regions” proposed by President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.
The sides also exchanged views on the current situation in Central Asia and developments around Afghanistan, as well as considered the problems of regional security, international terrorism, combating drug trafficking and religious extremism and other threats and modern challenges.
