A state reception was held with the participation of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov in the year of the 30th anniversary of the independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the press service of the head of state reported.
On December 15, 1990, the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR adopted the “Declaration on the State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.” The declaration established sovereignty – the independence of the state power of Kyrgyzstan in external affairs and the supremacy of state power in internal affairs.
On August 31, 1991, based on the “Declaration on State Sovereignty of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan” and guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, an extraordinary session of the Supreme Council adopted a resolution on the “Declaration on State Independence of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan”.
The reception was attended by Kyrgyz officials, leaders of political parties, ex-presidents of Kyrgyzstan, state and public figures, as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and the civil sector.
During the event, which was held in the Historical Museum, President Zhaparov examined the exhibits of the renovated museum, and also got acquainted with the presented historical and ethnographic expositions that reflect the ongoing significant historical events.
Speaking to the guests of the reception, the president noted that the adoption on December 15 by the Supreme Council of the Kyrgyz Republic of a historic document – the Declaration of State Sovereignty – is a long-awaited and significant event for the people of Kyrgyzstan.
He stressed that the main reason for the gathering today in the Kyrgyz State Historical Museum, in one of the centers of national culture, is to, to some extent, sum up the results of 2021 – the year of the 30th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan’s independence.
The guests of the state reception were given the opportunity to talk and exchange views, as well as get acquainted with the exhibits of the Kyrgyz State Historical Museum.
