Closing ceremony of 3-day int’l conference on ‘Physical Sciences and Engineering’ organized in Khwaja Fareed University

RAHIM YAR KHAN, December 16: The closing ceremony of three days international conference on ‘Physical Sciences and Engineering’ was organized in Khwaja Fareed University. MNA Ch. Javed Warriach graced the occasion as chief guest. MPA Amir Nawaz Chandia, Commissioner Inland Revenue Muhammad Shamim, Vice Chancellor Khwaja Fareed University Prof. Dr. Suleman Tahir and Dean of Faculty Prof. Dr. Arshad Munir Leghari were the guests of honour. More than 150 research articles were presented at the conference by professors and research scholars from fifteen different countries. A cake-cutting ceremony was part of the event to celebrate the first rank of Khwaja Fareed University in the International UI GreenMetric Ranking among all engineering universities nationwide. During his speech, Amir Nawaz Chanida considers the Khwaja Fareed University as a blessing for the area. He hoped that such international conferences would help to sort out the problems of the area. Inland revenue commissioner Muhammad Shamim appreciated the rapid development of the university.
He also appreciated the role of the university in the promotion of science and technology education. Ch. Javed Warriach congratulated the vice chancellor and his team on the successful conduction of the conference. He said that it is a big achievement to secure 234th ranking worldwide, 6th rank in Pakistan and first rank among engineering universities in Pakistan in UI GreenMetric ranking. No doubt, the university is progressing leaps and bounds. He make sure of his support for the university and he hope that soon this university would become one of the leading universities in the world. Prof. Dr. Suleman Tahir thanked the guests and participants. He said that an international conference would help to improve international linkages of the institution which would be beneficial for students and faculty. It would also help to sort out the regional problem related to industry, agriculture and climate change. He congratulated the faculty and staff members in marvelous performance in UI international GreenMetric Ranking. He added that more than 800 research articles have been published in the last two years. Scholarship of 672 million was distributed to the students. Efforts were made to improve teaching by organizing teacher training workshops. He said that an advance research center and international level stadium would be part of the university in the next two years. University will introduce modern agriculture technology in the region. Inshallah, soon Khawaja Fareed University will become a world-leading university. A recorded video message of Federal Minister Zartaj Gul Waris on the international conference was played in the ceremony. The winners of the poster competition, participants & organizers of the conference were awarded certificates and shields. Prof. Dr. Suleman Tahir presented souvenirs to the honorable guests. In the end, a one-minute silence was observed in memory of martyrs of the APS Peshawar and prayed for them. All conference participants, heads of departments, faculty members and a large number of students were also there.-PR
