The introduction of satellite technologies in agriculture, increasing the efficiency of livestock rearing and mechanization of cotton harvesting. All this provided for by new documents signed by the Government of Turkmenistan with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), ORIENT reported.
Why is it important
FAO has extensive experience in the field of agriculture. The organization improves the lives of people in different parts of the world – educates farmers, advises governments and helps to achieve better results in practice. The new agreements will allow Turkmenistan to gain broad access to the knowledge and technologies possessed by FAO specialists. Close contacts with local farmers and the imminent opening of the organization’s office in Ashgabat will give a powerful impetus to the development of agriculture in the country. What documents have been signed
• Framework program for cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and FAO for 2021-2025.
• Agreement on the implementation of the regional project “Improving the efficiency of raising small cattle in order to reduce the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions”.
