ISLAMABAD, December 24: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani on Friday ordered Islamabad District Collector to recover Rs190 million from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leaders Pervaiz Rashid and Ishaq Dar, former bureaucrat Fawad Hassan Fawad and former Pakistan Television Corporation PTV MD Dr Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi in PTV recovery implementation case.
IHC has ordered PML-N leaders and Qasmi along with Fawad Hassan Fawad to submit a report within three months. The court ordered that recovery be ensured as per the Supreme Court (SC) decision.
It should be noted that the SC had ruled in the Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi appointment case on November 8, 2018 and the Supreme Court had ordered recovery of Rs190 million from PTV.
Ata-ul-Haq Qasmi had to pay 50 percent of the total amount while Pervaiz Rashid and Ishaq Dar had to pay 20 percent and Fawad Hassan Fawad ought to pay only 10 percent of the amount yet to be recovered. The PTV had approached the IHC to implement the Supreme Court (SC’s) decision.-DNA
