“The nominal volume of GDP for three years in a row was less than KGS 600 billion, and this year we plan to increase to KGS 720 billion,” President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov noted at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on December 25. The head of state recalled that last year GDP growth fell by 8.6%, which was the lowest figure in the last 14 years. “This is the first time since 1994 that such a sharp drop has occurred. It must be said that, at the same time, in similar conditions of the pandemic in neighboring countries, growth continued. The highest budget replenishment in 5 years amounted to KGS 148 billion.
While the revenues of the republican budget for 11 months of this year amounted to KGS 162 billion, which is 41% or KGS 47 billion more than in 2020. Compared to 11 months of 2019, there is an increase of KGS 36 billion. This year we have achieved much better results in terms of budget than the period without a pandemic. We didn’t come up with new taxes. We found additional funds by changing the governance system, strengthening fiscalization and reducing corruption. When appointing this Cabinet of Ministers, we promised the people to increase the consolidated budget to KGS 280 billion.
We have completed this task.
It should be noted that we will end 2021 with KGS 306 billion, or more by KGS 26 billion are expected. We believe that a full-fledged foundation has been laid for increasing the consolidated budget to KGS 400 billion in 2022,” said President Sadyr Zhaparov.
