RAHIM YAR KHAN, December 30: Training Workshop of Faculty Members was organized by the Registrar Office in Khawaja Fareed University of Engineering and Information Technology. The topic of the training session was “Faculty Development & Challenges of Higher Education during COVID-19”. Vice-Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro Prof. Dr. Muhammad AslamUqili was the guest speaker. Professor Dr. Muhammad AslamUqili said that positive thinking and constructive attitude must be promoted for the improvement in society. He said that the main function of universities in the creation of knowledge and the purpose of the creation of knowledge is to achieve benefits by ensuring its implementation. The role of the university administration is like a facilitator and the role of teachers is important and much more of management. He said that online teaching and work from home were introduced during the epidemic. New Technology which was adopted for online teaching also created new opportunities for the future. Talking about improving attitude, he said that teachers are role models for students in this regard. The teacher is the most important person in the lives of the students. He said that substantial results could be achieved by teaching in the national language, but there are still some deficiencies in Pakistan. He said artificial intelligence is now contributing to decision-making. In Pakistan, universities need more funding for research and to cope with modern challenges. The funding to universities in our country is much lower than that of developed countries in the world. He said that the real skill of the students is to formulate a questioning. Teacher must teach them how they can improve their skill. We have to focus on quality and not quantity. Dr. Bilal Tahir, Dr. Saleemullah, Dr. NadeemSalamat, Dr. Ahmed Saheb, Dr. Aslam Khan, Dr. Jalat Khan, Dr. SaminaSarwat, Dr. ShahidAtiq and others were also present on the occasion.-PR
