Uzbekistan introduces new rules for registration and protection by QR-code

The Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On amendments and additions to some decisions of the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with improving the procedure for registering citizens at the place of permanent residence and stay” was adopted. The document was adopted in accordance with presidential decrees from 22 April 2020 No. UP-5984, as well as No. UP-6191 from 23 March 2021.
The resolution introduced changes and additions to:
Regulations on the procedure for registration at the place of permanent residence and place of temporary stay of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
Regulations on the procedure for registering citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the city of Tashkent and the Tashkent region at the place of permanent and temporary residence.
The regulation on the procedure for registration at the place of permanent residence and place of temporary stay of citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan was set out in a new edition, according to which: firstly, along with passports, citizens can also provide ID-cards;
secondly, citizens are required to register at their place of permanent residence or place of temporary stay within 15 days from the moment they arrive at their new place of residence. In the previous edition, citizens were required to submit documents for registration within 10 days; thirdly, the newborn is registered at the place of permanent residence at the address of the place of permanent residence of his father or mother when registering his birth certificate by the civil registry authorities by entering information through interdepartmental electronic interaction; fourthly, a list of citizens has been established whose registration does not apply the rules of the social norm of living space per person established by the Housing Code; fifth, the list of circumstances under which the department of migration and registration of citizenship has the right to cancel registration at the place of permanent residence has been expanded.
