No one should have any objection to anyone espousing any views on any subject, but when a person acts or talks in a mannor as though he and he alone is in possession of the ultimate truth, and those not subscribing to the finality of his views are dangerously deficient in common sense or wisdom, it is time that he should be asked to get his own cerebral strengths checked from a reliable psychiatrist.
I have great respect and admiration for the great mental faculties of Mr Ayaz Amir, but he should take some time off his habit of eulogising his ability to generate great ideas with great skill, and make a sincere effort not to shoot down the conflicting views and ideas with disdainful predictability.
These days he is seen coming down hard on those, who are advocating a serious effort to bring the Taliban down to the table and to have dialogue with them.
“Let us give them what they deserve,” says he. “Let us beat them to pulp, so that the society is protected from their evil.”
Good idea!
But what the hell have we been doing for nearly a decade now? Has our “beat them to pulp” policy produced the intended results?
Let Ayaz Amir have his ideas. But why condemn MNS and IK as pitiable clowns for the simple reason that they are not in agreement with him?
