RAHIM YAR KHAN, January 3: KhwajaFareed University of Engineering and Information Technology achieved significant achievements in dozens of fields in 2021. University won 10 NRPU/PSF projects worth Approx. 120 million. University received a UN Grant of 51 million, SRGP projects of 4 million, conference/Seminar Grants of 3 million, others National/International Project of 30 million. KFUEIT submitted 106 NRPU and 61 PSF Projects. 3 local challenge funds are in process. University faculty published Approx. 600 research publications, 3 International Books with Elsevier/ Springer, 90 international Book Chapters and 6 National Books. University signed overall 57 national/international Research MoUS. Beside this university installed FTIR in it’s advanced research lab. Installation of solid waste plants, Water plant, installation of solar water pumps by IMMI, installation of roof panels on walking tracks were also done in 2021. Development of various chemical and Food projects, UI Green metric ranking, Installation of plant for conversion of plastic into value added products, Installation of water sensors to save water, Tree plantation for clean and green environment are also included in significant achievements. University adopted various policies for climate change and environmental sustainability. KFUEIT Conducted 5 national/international conferences, 150+ webinars/seminars, 20 workshops/Trainings and more than 10 faculty development trainings. University got first position in PASTIC and DICE competitions. In sports KFUEIT won 6 bronze Sports medals in KamyabJawan Program (3 medals in All Pakistan inter university wrestling championship and 3 medals in All Pakistan inter university Kamyabjawan judo – Female championship 2021) and 5 medals in south Punjab Abdul Qadeer khan sports festival. During the previous year the university held Cultural Festivals, KisanMela and Grand Science Mela. Vice chancellor Prof. Dr. Suleman Tahir appreciated the efforts of faculty and staff members for the development of KFUEIT. He added that 2021 was a productive year for KFUEIT and he hoped that KFUEIT will show exponential progress in 2022.-PR
