Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday exchanged congratulatory messages with his Kyrgyz counterpart Sadyr Zhaparov on the 30th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two countries, calling for lifting the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
In his message, President Xi said that over the past 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China and Kyrgyzstan have always upheld the principles of mutual respect, equality and mutual benefit, and win-win cooperation.
Noting that great progress has been made in bilateral relationship, Xi said China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership has reached new heights, setting an example for the international community to build a new type of international relations.
He added that the development of China-Kyrgyzstan relations not only benefits the two countries and their people, but also contributes to peace and stability in Central Asia.
Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of China-Kyrgyzstan ties and is willing to maintain close contact with President Zhaparov.
He also said the two sides should take the diplomatic ties’ 30th anniversary as a new starting point to enhance the strategic mutual trust between the two countries and deepen cooperation in building the Belt and Road Initiative.
For his part, Zhaparov hailed the two countries’ fruitful cooperative results over the past 30 years, adding that the Chinese government has provided important support for Kyrgyzstan’s effective response to COVID-19.
The Kyrgyz president expressed his gratitude to President Xi for his personal efforts to enhance the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership. Kyrgyzstan is willing to work with China to further deepen bilateral relations and make every effort to consolidate and expand bilateral cooperation, Zhaparov added. – CGTN
