LAHORE, January 6: A ceremony for Interns of Program was held at the Chief Minister’s House for distribution of certificates and cheques among the media graduates under the Chief Minister’s Internship Program organized by the Information Department, DGPR.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar was the Chief Guest at ceremony.
He distributed certificates and cheques among media graduates under the Chief Minister’s Internship Program.
On the occasion, Chief Minister Usman Bazdar said that our government has the honor of giving the largest development budget of Rs. 740 billion in the history of Punjab to this project.One lac jobs for the youth are being increased to one and half lac. Usman Bazdar said that the government is fully committed to the betterment of the people and will further expand the Chief Minister’s Internship Program.The Chief Minister’s Internship Program aims to acquaint media graduates with the latest requirements in media and communication a world-renowned talent for the youth of Pakistan, especially Punjab.The Chief Minister Punjab said that the training of DGPR would prove to be useful for the youth in practical life.The Department of Information and Culture is playing its full role in the promotion and development of informational, journalistic and cultural values of Punjab.
The Chief Minister’s Internship is the first internship project of its kind in the history of Pakistan. Presenting the facts is the primary responsibility of the media person.
Usman Bazdar said that the doors of the Chief Minister’s Office have been opened for the students and the media graduates who have successfully completed the internship program organized by the DGPR.
Punjab Government’s spokesman Hassan Khawar said that Rs 67 million has been allocated for the two-year Chief Minister’s internship program.
On the direction of Chief Minister Usman Bazdar, Media graduates are being given a monthly stipend of Rs. 20,000 during Internship.
During the ceremony, Information Secretary Raja Jahangir Anwar said that 50% quota in Chief Minister’s internship program is reserved for female students and 10% for working journalists’ children.
There were 7,000 candidates for the Chief Minister’s Internship Program,from which only 100 have been selected on Merit.
The certification ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister Rai Timur Bhatti, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Director General Public Relations, Director Coordination DGPR, Director Public Relations Multan Division and concerned officials.
It is the first government who gave media graduates opportunity to do an internship at an institution that is Patron of media industry. The internship program has a quota for 50% women, 40% male and 10% media graduate children of journalists. When we talk about quotas, it is an honor for the journalistic community as their children also got the opportunity to work in this media patronage organization, DGPR. Under this internship program, they got the opportunity to polish their skills, which will be a helpful experience for them in future.
The interns learned a lot from government officials during this internship. Which will be a good experience in their practical life.
During the training, the interns were given the opportunity to work in various fields of DGPR and they were also connected with print and electronic media houses so that they could understand their working.
It is a great honor for the interns to participate in this internship program at this media-led institution.
The Punjab government is paying Rs. 60,000 for three months to those who do internship in DGPR because it is paid internship. Punjab Government has encouraged them by financial support along with the internship program which is also commendable.
Carrying forward the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar launched the program for media graduates.
