ISLAMABAD, January 12: Iran and Pakistan are immediate neighbours and enjoy multifaceted relationship which are on the rise with the passage of time. This has been stated by the Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan His Excellency Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini while talking to this scribe during a meeting here on Wednesday.
The Ambassador said that both the countries are keen for the enhancement of regional connectivity and for a stable and peaceful Afghanistan and for this purpose they are playing and will continue to play their role in future also. He said that enhancement in the Iran-Pak relationship will not only be beneficial for both the countries but for the regional peace and stability also.
He added that there are still a number of areas wherein the cooperation between the two countries can be initiated for the benefit of the people of both the countries. He went on to say that his country is desirous of importing agricultural products from Pakistan and exporting energy at the maximum possible level.
The Ambassador said that media of both the countries can play a pivotal role in the promotion of these ties and that there is a dire need to kick off the sports exchanges particularly the Polo and Football between the two countries.
The Iranian envoy further said that his country is anxiously looking forward for the visits of President Dr. Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan to Iran.
