The Turkmen delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev held a series of meetings with Afghan Government officials in Afghanistan on Saturday. The sides paid special attention to intensifying the pace of joint projects in key sectors.
The meetings were held with Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Foreign Minister Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai, Minister of Mines and Petroleum Shahabuddin Delawar and Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock Mowlavi Sadar Azam, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reported on its website.
During the constructive talks, the sides discussed current issues of the bilateral agenda and reviewed the key areas of Turkmen-Afghan cooperation in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.
Focusing on the intensification of joint projects, the sides expressed willingness to cooperate on further promoting the construction of the Turkm enistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan (TAP) power transmission line and the railroad from Turkmenistan to provinces of Afghanistan. The meeting also discussed issues of ensuring the well-being and stable development on the Afghan land and the possibility of integrating the country into large-scale regional economic.
