Parliamentary Democracy simply cannot succeed in the countries where Executive, Parliament, Judiciary or any other state institution oversteps its constitutional limits. In that case the entire system goes haywire. The Prime Minister has to play pivotal role for ensuring that the various state institutions gel up. He has to make his presence felt by attending Parliamentary sessions regularly at least once a week and answering personally questions raised in Parliament. Let us admit that there is something wrong somewhere and that is why our Parliamentary Democracy has not clicked the way its well-wishers had desired to click. There is a need on the part of all state institutions to show seriousness in the matter lest the present system should collapse. Culture of tolerance and respect for one another’s view point is the need of the hour.
