President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Deputy Chief of Staff of the Russian Presidential Executive Office Dmitry Kozak discussed the latest developments in Central Asia in Tashkent. The press service of the Uzbek president reported that at the beginning of the meeting, Dmitry Kozak conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin. It was particularly noted that agreements of recent meetings and contacts at the highest level have given a strong impetus to the strengthening of the Uzbek-Russian strategic partnership and the expansion of multifaceted relations. Trade turnover has been on the rise, major industrial cooperation projects and priority humanitarian programs are underway. Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed the importance of further development and unlocking the potential of full-scale cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia. The sides exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia in light of recent developments and discussed bilateral cooperation. The importance of holding a series of events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Russia was emphasized. Last week, the leaders of the two countries spoke personally by telephone. They also discussed the situation in Central Asia and recent developments in Kazakhstan, as well as issues of bilateral relations.
