PESHAWAR, January 23: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur inspected the offices of Dera Development Authority during his brief visit of Dera Ismail Khan City. He went round various sections of DDA and met its staff. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian and Project Director DDA Shahjahan Khan also accompanied him.
On this occasion, the Provincial Minister and Secretary Local Government also paid visit to Dera Township in detail and inaugurated vigorous tree plantation campaign in the township by planting a sampling at Benazir Park, a major amusement park in the center of Dera Township. Under the program, the Dera Development Authority in collaboration with the Forest Department will plant more than one thousand saplings in the township in the first phase while in the next phase the scope of tree planting will be further expanded on the occasion of spring tree plantation campaign in DIK.
Faisal Amin Gandapur directed the head of Dera Development Authority to redesign the main Benazir park and all other parts to make it more attractive with special focus on tree planting and natural beauty in addition to planning for the overall beautification of the entire township. He however appreciated the performance of the township administration in improving the hygiene and civic facilities situation in the township.-PR
