UN Secretary General’s statement on Kashmir welcomed

SRINAGAR, January 23: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Farida Behenji has welcomed the statement made by United Nations Secretary General António Guterres for a just solution to the Kashmir dispute and respect for the rights of the Kashmiris Farida Behenji in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmir dispute had been on the UN agenda for decades as a disputed territory and the World Body itself had passed several resolutions to resolve the lingering dispute. She said that while the statement of António Guterres as the head of the World Body was a welcome step, the UN should also use its efforts for a just and lasting solution to the lingering dispute. Farida Behenji maintained that the Kashmiri people had always demanded settlement of the Kashmir dispute in the light of the UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
