BRUSSELS, January 23: The Pak-Benelux Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PABOCCI) has been formally inaugurated to contribute to Pakistan’s economic development. The ceremony was held at the European Press Club, Brussels, where Sheikh Tahir, a prominent Belgian businessman, inaugurated it. Due to the growing coronavirus cases in Belgium, delegates from neighbouring countries were not invited and only a limited number of people participated in the ceremony.
Addressing the function, Tahir paid tribute to all those who came together to create PABOCCI and explore new possibilities of cooperation in both the regions through it. He said that the first generation of Pakistanis, who had migrated to Belgium, had tried to form a business organisation in 1998 which remained unsuccessful due to unknown reasons.
“Today our second generation is growing up. These people are more educated than us. We have to try to bring new talent along and provide them. -TLTP
