First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Arzybek Kozhoshev held on Monday a meeting on the implementation of instructions of President Sadyr Zhaparov on the implementation of the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On the status of Batken Oblast”, the press service of the Cabinet said. During the meeting, it was noted that the list of 62 preferential border settlements, which will be provided with certain tax, land, economic and other benefits, was approved.
Arzybek Kozhoshev noted that in the second half of February, the first retreat of the Kyrgyz Cabinet will be held in Batken Oblast.
“In addition to preferential state and municipal services, the Cabinet will increase pensions by KGS 2,000 for residents of 62 border villages of Batken Oblast. We are also considering the possibility of doubling the amount of benefits, providing electricity on preferential terms, increasing the salaries of social workers and law enforcement officers living in these 62 border villages,” said Kozhoshev and added that all legal acts should be ready by Feb. 15 for approval at the retreat of the Cabinet of Ministers.
