KARACHI, March 15: Dissidents of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) plan to announce name of their party on March 23 when the nation marks Pakistan Day to commemorate Lahore Resolution that called for establishing a new country.
Speaking to media on Tuesday, Dr Sagheer Ahmed, who last week parted his ways with the MQM to join Mustafa Kamal, the defacto chief of the dissident group, he said the party would hold its first rally in the second week of next month after being named on March 23.
“We are receiving messages not only from Pakistan but from across the world, and we are thankful for the support we are getting from people,” he said. Dr Sagheer Ahmed rejected the impression that their party was established in Dubai. He said they would formally seek government’s approval for their rally through filing an application.-Online
