Shahzad Akbar has met his just deserts.Wasn’t it a sad reflection on his performance that mega corruption cases against the big fish have been lingering on for the last couple of years with no end in sight and poor show of the Prosecution departments. This inordinate delay has brought a bad name to the PM who had promised quick recovery of the looted amount from the corrupt once he came to power. No tears should, therefore, be shed on his departure.
Things are heading towards a confrontation between the government and the opposition leaders who want to turn coming March into a month of long marches. The OIC leaders would be in Islamabad in the last week of March and a military parade will also be held during that period. There is a point in interior minister’s request to them to read just the dates of their long marches in view of these events so that there is no clash between their protest processions and these events.
