Lata Mangeshkar too has joined the great majority. She breathed her last the other day in Mumbai after fighting a short battle with Covid.In her career as a playback singer she sung over 50 thousand songs and rendered her voice to almost all leading film heroines of Bollywood. Her sisters Asha Bhosley and Usha Mangeshkar too were also great singers of their time in Bollywood.
Singers like her are a rare commodity who are born once in a blue moon.Lata was discovered as a film singer by noted musician of the sub-continent Master Ghulam Haider but it were musicians likeNaushad Ali,C.Ramchandra,Khem Chandar Prakash and Anil Biswaas who groomed her as a film singer.She rendered her voice to dozens of memorable film songs composed by them.
