Kyrgyz Cabinet orders study of impact of smog on health of Bishkek residents

Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov signed an order to create a commission to study the impact of smog, polluted air on the health of the population of Bishkek and Alamudun and Sokuluk regions. According to the document, the emergency commission should:
conduct a study on the impact of smog, polluted air on the health of the population of Bishkek city, Alamudun and Sokuluk regions of Chui Oblast;
develop an algorithm of actions to prevent diseases of the population with appropriate recommendations for different levels of air pollution;
develop an air quality index with a definition of its impact on the health of the population;
conduct comprehensive work to assess air pollution problems in Bishkek, Alamudun and Sokuluk regions of Chui Oblast, and identify the main sources of air pollution in order to develop a step-by-step plan and measures to improve the environmental situation in Bishkek;
provide residents with reliable information on the environmental situation, as well as on factors that contribute to the preservation of health or have a detrimental effect on it.
