ISLAMABAD, March 16: Pakistan on Wednesday lodged strong protest against the Indian government’s decision for not allowing Pakistani diplomats in New Delhi from traveling to Kolkata, to watch match of World T20 match between Pakistan and India, which is scheduled on March 19.
Foreign Office sources informed that Deputy High Commissioner of India J.P. Singh summoned for the lodging the protest.
Pakistan’s five diplomats and their family members were not allowed to travel to Kolkata for the cricket match.
Acting Director General at the South Asia desk told Singh that the Indian government’s action was against the Vienna Conventions and diplomatic norms.
Total 17 applications of Pakistani High Commission officials and their families were submitted; including Pakistani High Commissioner to IndiaAbdul Basit and New Delhi only allowed one Pakistani diplomat to watch the Pakistan-Bangladesh match on Wednesday.-Online
