There are many politicians in this country who are quite adept in the art of double-talk and the hallmark of whose politics is talking tongue in cheek. . Butter would not melt in their mouths. Look at the recent statement of the octogenarian chief minister of Sind that an impression has been created that there is corruption in Sind. In other words he doesn’t share the general perception about the widespread rampant corruption in the corridors of power in Sind. Only a naïve would buy this argument of Syed Qaim Ali Shah who seems to have gone gaga.
The common man in this country shares the resolve of the Army Chief that for long-term stability in the FATA, the gains achieved in the crusade against the terrorists would have to be consolidated. The earlier the IDPs are relocated in their home and hearth the better. Rehabilitation of their houses should be our top most priority. Instead of rushing administrative reforms in the FATA we had better first of all allow some breathing space to the political administration in the tribal agencies to find its feet. One shouldn’t be surprised if the FATA secretariat had to surrender 54 crore rupees meant for the developmental activity in the tribal belt because it could not be utilised by the political agents. How on earth they could use it when the applecart of the administration was upset at the hands of the terrorists and when the Army was busy fighting off terrorism? Law and order is sine qua non for developmental works in the tribal region.

Many of his speeches which he delivered in the recent past bordered on vulgarity which no decent person can hear in the presence of his family. Reports are that, physically too, he is on the wane. His leg has developed gangrene.
