President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received today Minister of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) for Integration and Macroeconomics Sergey Glazyev, the press service of the head of state reported. An exchange of views took place on topical issues of joint activities within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the chairmanship of Kyrgyzstan this year in the bodies of the Union.
The head of state once again noted that the Kyrgyz Republic attaches great importance to the issues of integration within the framework of the EAEU, this is one of the priority areas of the country’s foreign policy.
He noted that it is important to dedicate the year of Kyrgyzstan’s chairmanship in the EAEU to strengthening investment and cooperation, expanding trade and economic ties and developing transport corridors. Sadyr Zhaparov, recalling the decision taken by the members of the Supreme Council to hold the Eurasian Economic Forum in May this year in Bishkek on the eve of the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, noted the need for close joint work between the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the EEC.
In turn, EEC Minister Sergei Glazyev expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz president for the warm welcome and the opportunity to speak about the priority tasks of the Commission.
He noted the necessity to adopt the program of the Forum.
Sergey Glazyev said that, in the context of the appeal of the President of Kyrgyzstan to the heads of the EAEU member states, the EEC sets the development of proposals for expanding ties and optimizing investment cooperation as the main goals of the discussion. Much attention is paid to innovative projects that could become symbols of Eurasian integration. An exhibition of the best achievements of the EAEU member states is also planned.
