KPK Govt prepares an action plan to control dengue: Chief Secretary

PESHAWAR, February 18: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash has said that the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has prepared an action plan to control dengue. In this regard, a meeting was held on Friday under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash. The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Department, Secretary Local Government Department, Director Performance Management and Reforms Unit and other concerned officials. The meeting was informed that the health department in collaboration with all the district administrations would ensure timely measures.
It was further informed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would ensure coordinated and effective measures for the prevention of dengue this year. He also called for a coordinated campaign for the prevention of dengue. Chief Secretary also directed to conduct an awareness campaign for the prevention of dengue and to monitor the anti-dengue campaign in a systematic manner. He further said that the setup at the divisional and district level should be strategized according to the action plan 2022 while special attention should be given to the dengue affected areas. Dr. Shehzad Khan Bangash also directed the local government department to improve the drainage and water supply system in the dengue hotspot areas.-PR
