RAWALPINDI, February 23: Security forces on Wednesday killed at least 10 terrorists including a commander during an operation in Hoshab area of Balochistan.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was conducted after the information on the presence of the terrorists in a camp in Hoshab.
“Security forces conducted an operation to apprehend externally sponsored enemies of peace in Balochistan. Once the troops started cordoning the area, terrorists tried to flee their hideout and opened indiscriminate fire whereby, a heavy exchange of fire ensued,” it added.
The ISPR said that 10 terrorists including commander Master Asif alias Mukesh was killed in the exchange of fire. “These terrorists were involved in recent firing and attack on security forces incidents in Turbat and Pasni areas,” it added. In addition, according to the statement, a huge cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered which was planned for use against security forces.
The ISPR further said that the operations to eliminate perpetrators of terrorist acts will continue and they will not be allowed to sabotage peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
On Sunday, an officer of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom during an operation launched on the presence of terrorists in Balochistan’s Kohlu district. According to the ISPR, the forces had received information about the presence of terrorists in a hideout in the district, prompting security forces to conduct a clearance operation in the area.
“As soon as troops started cordoning the area, terrorists while fleeing the hideout opened indiscriminate fire. During ensuing heavy exchange of fire, Captain Haider Abbas embraced shahadat in pursuit of the terrorists,” the statement added.
Last month, ten soldiers embraced martyrdom after terrorists attacked a security forces’ check post in Balochistan’s Kech district, the ISPR had said. The media wing of the military said that intense exchange of fire occurred in the “fire raid” by terrorists on the check post. It added that the forces repulsed the attack, killing one terrorist, injuring several others. NNI
