President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov today, February 23, congratulated the people of Kyrgyzstan on the Defender of the Fatherland Day.
In his congratulatory message the head of state said that every year on February 23, we pay tribute and gratitude to those who defended and are defending our Motherland, to those who have become a model of honor and valor, devoted service to the Fatherland, the spiritual greatness of our people.
“We render special honors to our veterans of the Great Patriotic War and labor. This holiday reminds us of the covenant of our ancestors to protect our Fatherland like the apple of our eye. After all, protecting one’s home is the first duty, the fulfillment of which is a matter of honor for every citizen.
On this day, all Kyrgyzstanis gratefully remember the heroic deed of the defenders of the Motherland, bowing their heads before the bright image of those who gave their lives for the freedom of our then united state. And only with such an attitude the younger generations will understand the significance of the independence of sovereign Kyrgyzstan, the need to preserve and protect their native land. This is how young people comprehend the meaning of such sacred concepts as the Fatherland, the duty of a citizen and patriotic duty
Now, when the world is facing new threats every day, you must be in a high degree of readiness to face these challenges. Under these conditions, the state is making tireless efforts to improve the combat effectiveness of the Armed Forces of our country, steadily improve their readiness to repel any expansion from outside and raise the level of military training. At the same time, the leadership of the country pays considerable attention to the social security of military personnel, which we will continue to do,” President Zhaparov said in his message.
The head of state said that it is believed that February 23 is an exclusively male holiday, but there are also quite a few women in Kyrgyz army who steadfastly, with pride and dignity carry out their military duty, in no way inferior to men. “I would like to pay tribute to them today, and I sincerely congratulate them on Defender of the Fatherland Day,” he said thanking the defenders for serving the Motherland and wishing peace and prosperity to Kyrgyzstan.
