ISLAMABAD, February 24: Mr. Ikram-Ul-Haq Mohammad Rohail, President of Pak-Uzbek Trade Center has been appointed as Tourism Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Pakistan by the Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Tourism and Sports of Uzbekistan H.E. A. Abdulhakimov here in Lahore on Tuesday. The ceremony was held at Pak-Uzbek Trade Center and was attended by businessmen, experts of cultural diplomacy, researchers and students in large number.
On this occasion, representative of Republic of Uzbekistan MirzaTaimur bestowed the prestigious award to Mr. Roahil and stated that he has formally been appointed as the Focal Person of Uzbekistan in Pakistan. He hoped that his appointment would further strengthen bilateral cooperation in tourism, culture and education in the days to come.
On his part, Mr. Rohail thanked the government of Uzbekistan for his selection and pledged to initiate all possible measures to boost mutual cooperation in tourism and other fields. He termed his appointment as a matter of great pride for him.
He was of the opinion that Uzbekistan is a great country having rich civilization, dynamic culture, energetic tradition, immense hospitality and above all center of connectivity. He emphasized that close cooperation in tourism and culture would open new avenues of FDIs, joint ventures and corridor of knowledge. He spelled out various doable suggestions to promote bilateral cooperation in diverse sectors of economy, investments, joint ventures and cultural cooperation.
