The World Bank will provide development assistance to Kyrgyzstan in the energy and environmental sectors, the press service of the Ministry of Finance said.
Finance Minister Almaz Baketaev met with Country Manager for the World Bank Kyrgyz Republic Office Naveed Hassan Naqvi and his team.
During the meeting, the sides discussed the Bank’s support for the implementation of reforms in the energy sector and its recovery.
“Representatives of the World Bank assured the Kyrgyz side of cooperation and assistance in the energy sector, improvement of environmental conditions in the country and a number of other strategic activities,” the report said.
In addition, the upcoming 2022 Spring Meetings, tentatively scheduled for April 22 this year, was on the agenda.
At the event, the Kyrgyz delegation will be able to demonstrate the country’s development priorities on the world stage.
Besides, the 30th anniversary of the partnership between the Kyrgyz Republic and the World Bank was discussed.
The sides discussed the priority projects under the “Loan Program for fiscal year 2022-2024”. As a result of the meeting, the sides agreed on joint cooperation.
