Uzbekistan will host the ASTRUMHACK 2022 hackathon on 11-13 March, which will bring together young people studying programming and IT technologies. They will have to complete a competitive task to create a new digital product. The winners will share the prize fund of 45 million soums. The event was organized by Astrum IT Academy together with IT PARK Uzbekistan, Digital operator Beeline Uzbekistan with the support of the telecommunications holding VEON.
Young people under the age of 24 will be able to take part in the hackathon, individually or as part of a team (maximum of three people). At ASTRUMHACK 2022, they will develop digital products that can solve business problems in the areas of healthcare, travel and tourism, finance, ecology, agriculture, and human resources. A separate task is presented by the organizer of the hackathon, the Astrum IT Academy, on whose territory the event will take place.
The winners will receive cash prizes. The winner of the first place will get 20 million soums, the second – 15 million, the third – 10 million soums. The winning team will also receive a special prize from Beeline Uzbekistan. An intangible incentive for young people will be the opportunity to practice creating working Digital products and communicate with experts, including representatives of the VEON group of companies.
“Astrum IT Academy is the largest academy in Central Asia and will soon become the largest in terms of the number of students. Today we are working in all directions to make the life of our students and the entire IT community more interesting. To do this, we involve in partnership leading IT companies in Uzbekistan and abroad. We are very pleased that the VEON telecommunications holding, together with Beeline Uzbekistan, expressed its readiness to support and fruitfully cooperate with us in many areas of the educational process. We hope that this cooperation will continue and reach a new qualitative level,” says Botir Arifjanov, founder of Astrum IT Academy. “We support a number of educational projects aimed at training personnel for the digital economy of Uzbekistan. Therefore, the idea of holding a hackathon was met with enthusiasm. For young people, this is a great chance to take their first successful steps in IT, apply their knowledge and, of course, receive awards. I wish this to be a successful start in the profession for them!” – comments Andrzej Malinowski, CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan.
