PESHAWAR, March 14: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan while presiding over the review meeting regarding the annual development program for 2021-22 has said that according to the PTI’s manifesto, the provincial government is taking steps to implement public welfare schemes. A number of projects have been launched for the improvement of irrigation which will make water available for agriculture sector and will facilitate irrigation of many acres of land. while allocating funds for annual development program of next financial year, priority should be given to Ongoing public welfare projects.
The meeting was attended by Chief Engineers of Irrigation Department and other concerned officials. During the meeting, the Provincial Minister for Irrigation was briefed in detail about the progress and problems faced in the ongoing projects under the Annual Development Program for the year 2021-22.
Provincial Minister for Irrigation Arshad Ayub Khan further said that agriculture plays an important role in the development of the country whereas it is very important to have the best irrigation system for the excellent per acre production. Rehabilitation and development of small dams and other sources of irrigation will irrigate several acres of land. Arshad Ayub Khan concluded.-PR
