Kyrgyzstan and Turkey discussed the possibility of crossing the borders of the two countries on the basis of an ID card and extending the visa-free regime, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic said. Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with Minister of Internal Affairs of Turkey Suleiman Soyilu on March 12 in Antalya, Turkey.
During the meeting, the sides discussed a number of issues in the field of protecting the rights of Kyrgyzstanis living in Turkey. Kazakbaev noted that protecting the rights and interests of Kyrgyz citizens abroad is one of the main priorities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic.
In addition, the ministers discussed the proposal of the Kyrgyz side on the possibility of crossing the borders of two states on the basis of an internal passport of a citizen (ID-card) and extending the visa-free regime,” the ministry said. Also during the meeting, topical issues of cooperation between law enforcement agencies of both countries were discussed.
