Bishkek hosted on Wednesday Kyrgyz-Kazakh consultations at the level of First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Nuran Niyazaliev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Marat Syzdykov, the press service of the Kyrgyz Foreign Ministry said.
During the consultations, the sides discussed a wide range of current issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations in the political, trade and economic, water and energy and cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Special attention was paid to the issues of cross-border cooperation, in particular, the resumption of unimpeded crossing of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border by Kyrgyz citizens through land road checkpoints, resumption of international regular passenger road transport, as well as unimpeded movement of goods through the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border in accordance with previously reached agreements between co-chairs of the Working Group on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Government of Kazakhstan.
Niyazaliev and Syzdykov reviewed the calendar of upcoming meetings and visits at hight and the highest levels, including within the framework of inter-parliamentary cooperation, and exchanged views on cooperation within international and regional organizations.
The sides expressed readiness to apply maximum efforts for the implementation of agreements on the results of past visits at the level of heads of states and governments, including the creation of joint trade-logistics and wholesale-distribution centers on the border territories for the convenience of agricultural producers, which will give an additional impetus to increase mutual trade turnover.
